WHERE'S JOHNNY? THE NEW(EST) BLACK AND THE SECOND COMING

After some (private) West Coast adventures last week, Johnny's back with lots of news, including brand new remixes, a new location for MR. BLACK, and a "New/Old" annual that is a rare full-dress treat - CLICK + DRAG. Here's all the latest on October's first half, and Johnny looks forward to sharing this most festive month with you. BATTLECAT - THE NEW REMIXES ARE OUT!

BATTLECAT by PRINCESS XTRAVAGANZA, originally recorded some months ago by JONNY MCGOVERN and ADAM JOSEPH, has been remixed by JOHNNY DYNELL, and his two hot remixes are now available on ITUNES. The "Princess on the Warpath" mix is VERY Ballhouse with a Native American flavor - more of that eclectic sound that Johnny's truly known for. The "Club Mix" is the popular Electro remix that you may have heard in the clubs this Summer. Take that!

In search of a more intimate, full-time venue, beloved Dance Den MR. BLACK, Johnny's Friday night residency, made a move this Summer that didn't quite take. When the regulars gave a resounding thumbs down to the latest incarnation just before Labor Day, STUART BLACK and THE BLACKS went in search of a more fitting clubhouse. From the look and sound of last Friday's "construction party" preview, the NEW, NEW MR. BLACK is just what the witch doctor ordered, a return to the original MR. BLACK neighborhood and feeling. For this week's opening festivities, resident JOHNNY DYNELL spins the main dancefloor aka the BLACK BOX with founding DJ SAMMY JO and frequent guest SPENCER PRODUCT. Fridays also feature hosts MACKY, LADYFAG and AARON K, a wacky Funhouse entrance with WRESTLE BOY leading guests through the labyrinth, and other delights still under construction.

The pioneering "Cyber/Fetish/Gender-Hacking" party CLICK + DRAG, which ushered out the 20th Century in style and returned with a bang last year, announces its second annual Future-Spectacle for October 17. Two of Click's founding producers - director and visual artist ROB ROTH and nightlife impresario CHI CHI VALENTI of THE JACKIE FACTORY will stage this year's epic CLICK + DRAG 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING at sympatico venue SANTOS PARTY HOUSE. CLICK 3.1/ THE SECOND COMING is a two floor, evening-length epic, preserving the night's strict dress code and pansexual mix of fetishists, artists, gender-hackers and "Glam Nerds."

CLICK 3.1 was inspired by the W.B. YEATS poem THE SECOND COMING, and its themes of new gods for (often terrifying) new Ages, "Spiritus Mundi" or universal subconscious, and a post-Christian world. CLICK 3.1 celebrates gender-bending new prophets and prophetesses, and the neo-tribalism that borrows elements from a myriad of religions to create new believers and practices. CLICK + DRAG 3.1 will feature multimedia works directed by Roth and installations and performances by dozens of collaborators.

This year's highlights will include trans icon and vocalist OUR LADY J, who presents an electric take on her GOSPEL FOR THE GODLESS with piano, choir and chadri design by GARO SPARO, gender-illuminati cabaret troupe THE PIXIE HARLOTS in THE SWITCHING HOUR, and Method Go-Go icons FALON, AMBER RAY and SEQUINETTE. The DJ roster includes original Click (and SCISSOR SISTERS) DJ SAMMY JO, DJ JOHNNY DYNELL (who also creates the night's signature mixes for the clicknyc.com website and show) Darkwave DJs JOSH CHEON (SF) and JOHANNA CONSTANTINE, and electro DJ ANGELO.

If your idea of a perfect weeknight includes legendary NYC dragstars belting it out to a "gayla" audience, this popular Wednesday in Hell's Kitchen is well worth a visit. Local drag royalty SHERRY VINE and EPIPHANY present an evening of cabaret and VERY live vocals, covering songs from old school to new skool, Broadway and torch. There's lots of comedy, and before, during and after the shows DJ JOHNNY DYNELL hams it up on the decks. Shows at 10pm and 11pm.

It's a treat to hear great NYC club DJs like JOHNNY DYNELL, JON JON BATTLES and STEVE TRAVOLTA spin in a more intimate, civilized setting every once in a while. If you also enjoy sipping from New York City's most impressive selection of bubblies, stop in to this Tribeca mainstay on Thursdays for the club's TINY BUBBLES DJ series. Its a perfect place to bring the boys (or girls) for a round or a bottle of champers and some dancing, and has a marvelously mixed crowd - gay, straight, local, tourist, etc. and even the local firemen from the "Ghostbusters" firehouse are known to stop by after work! Catch DJ JOHNNY DYNELL on Thursday 10/22 at TINY BUBBLES - and also look out for Saturday 10/10, when Dynell mans the decks from 10 PM - 2 AM.
